Intro

This youth exchange focuses on exploring key competences “learning, sense of initiative and generating new skills” and provide the details required to understand the economy from a different perspective. Also will explain why learning something new became so important in our society.
Supporting young people in becoming more entrepreneurial does not necessarily mean to raise a generation of business-oriented youth but – in general – to make young people more capable of turning their ideas into actions, being more creative and innovative and becoming more active in their communities by implementing their new projects ideas. Young people are becoming more ready to take risks and develop their own innovative ideas – therefore we see the need to work on developing practical tools for, and approaches towards, working with this Key Competence.
On the other hand, some concepts need to be explained “in their language” and therefore we consider essential for young people to learn and to give other young people this key concepts explained in a language understandable to them.
The main aim of this youth exchange is to give participants the space and tools to discover some economic skills from different angles in order to clarify their understanding and then give them the practical tools and working methods of other young people so that they explore their own point of view on the economy.

Project objectives

  • – to gain a broader understanding of what a “sense of initiative and new skills” means.
  • – to introduce new and innovative methods to work with youth in this area.
  • – to explore ways to empower young people to be more active in their communities through creative methodologies.
  • – to gain skills and understanding of how to work on this competence with young people in order to acquire financial education through non-formal learning.
  • – to share best practices and useful methods and to gain innovative ideas. Therefore participants will make a video (new skill) in which to present economic concepts seen other young people from their perspective.
  • – to support the development of young people, and the commitment to treat the development of each person in a very individual way.
  • – to support young people in their personal leadership and to generate strategies and tools that serve them to use their creativity, talents and potentials to achieve their goals.
  • – to support “soft skills” of young people like communication and team work.
  • – to inspire participants to share the acquirements from the project with other mentors within the respective organisations they come from:

• to develop economic competences
• to give participants a new perspectives to their work in NGO departments
